What is an urgent care tv display?

An urgent care TV display is a waiting area screen that explains the clinic while patients wait: visit options, what it treats, how to use the patient portal and when to call 911 instead. This board covers those in four slides and deliberately shows no wait times or queue numbers.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 16:9, so stand the TV the usual way and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

Should an urgent care screen show wait times?
This board does not, on purpose. A wait time on a screen goes stale fast and becomes a promise the clinic cannot keep. A live queue display is a separate system connected to your check-in software; this board is for information that stays true all day.
What should an urgent care screen say about emergencies?
That some symptoms need 911, not a walk-in visit, and which ones: chest pain, signs of a stroke and trouble breathing are the usual examples. This board ends its loop on that slide, so everyone waiting sees it.
Can the screen promote the patient portal?
Yes, by listing what the portal does, such as results, refills, messages and video visits, and how to sign up. This board tells patients to scan to sign up and to ask for their access code, so nothing personal is ever shown on the screen.
Does it need a special screen?
No. Any TV with a modern web browser plays the board: open play.channelos.tv on the TV and pair it from your phone with the code it shows. Android TV, Google TV, webOS and Fire TV work, and an older TV can use a streaming stick.
