What is yoga studio digital signage?

Yoga studio digital signage is a TV screen in a studio's reception or waiting area that loops class timetables, the styles taught, membership offers and opening hours, updated from a phone or laptop rather than reprinted on paper. A free, remixable yoga studio board template on ChannelOS runs on any TV with a browser.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 16:9, so stand the TV the usual way and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

What is the price of digital signage?
Break it into three lines and price each one. The screen: any TV with a working web browser will do, and a set you already own costs nothing extra. The player: if the TV's own browser is old or sluggish, an Android TV stick is usually the cheapest fix and far less than a dedicated signage box. The software: almost every platform charges per screen per month, so multiply the monthly rate by the number of TVs you actually run, not the number you might add one day. The content: a ready-made template removes the design cost entirely. Ask any vendor for the per-screen monthly price before you buy hardware, because that is the line that repeats every month.
What is a digital signboard?
A digital signboard is a screen showing information that used to be printed: a timetable, a price list, a notice or an offer. It runs from the screen's own browser or a small media player, takes its content from software you control on a phone or laptop, and changes the moment you save. The difference from a printed board is turnaround, not picture quality. Cancelling one class or swapping an instructor is an edit, not a reprint and a trip to the printer. A digital signboard also carries more than one message: several slides loop in sequence, so one screen at a reception desk can hold the timetable, the current offer and the opening hours without shrinking any of them.
What is a good tagline for yoga?
Judge it on legibility before poetry. The sign trade sizes text at roughly 25mm of capital letter height for every 3 metres of viewing distance, so a line read from 6 metres across a reception needs capitals about 50mm tall. On a 43-inch screen that leaves room for only a handful of words per line, which is the real constraint on a tagline. Keep it to five words or fewer, make it a statement about the practice rather than a claim you cannot substantiate, and avoid script faces at small sizes. Then test it: stand where a first-time visitor stands, at the door, and read it once. If you have to step closer, cut a word or raise the size.
What should a yoga studio put on its reception screen?
Work backwards from dwell time. Someone waiting at the desk gives the screen roughly 30 to 60 seconds, so the whole loop should finish inside that window. At about 8 seconds a slide, that is four to seven slides. Give the timetable the most room, because it is the thing people stop to read, and show today and tomorrow rather than the full week. Then one slide for the styles you teach, one for the current intro offer with its end date on it, and one for opening hours and contact details. Workshops, teacher training and retail go into the loop only while they are live, and the slide comes out the day the offer expires.
