What is a workout of the day display?

A workout of the day display is a screen that shows the session everyone in class will do: the warm-up, the strength piece and the conditioning, with a scaling note. This board adds an intro course offer and the week's class times, and the whole workout is text a coach retypes each morning.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 16:9, so stand the TV the usual way and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

Can our gym call it a CrossFit workout on the screen?
Only if the gym is a licensed affiliate. CrossFit is a registered trademark of CrossFit, LLC, and gyms without a license are not permitted to use the name for their classes or signs. This board says strength and conditioning and workout of the day instead, which describes the same session without the mark.
How do coaches update the workout every morning?
The workout is ordinary text on one slide. A coach opens the editor on a phone, types today's movements, reps and times over yesterday's, and publishes. The TV by the rig shows it, with no marker board to wipe and no photo of a whiteboard to post.
How big should the workout text be?
Big enough to read from the back of the class area. A common sign-trade rule of thumb is one inch of letter height for every ten feet of distance. On this board the section names are largest and the movements smaller, so an athlete finds their place in the workout at a glance.
Does it work on a TV mounted high on the wall?
Yes. Any TV with a modern web browser can play it: open play.channelos.tv on the TV and pair it from your phone. Tilt a high TV down toward the floor to cut glare from overhead lights, and keep it clear of where barbells and wall balls travel.
