What is a warehouse shift communication board?

A warehouse shift and crew communication board is a screen by the time clock showing today's priorities, who's on the floor by zone, a crew shoutout and the break schedule, typed in by a supervisor at handover. Run across more than one shift, the board itself can be scheduled to change at the exact hour one shift ends and the next begins, so day shift and night shift are never reading yesterday's priorities.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 16:9, so stand the TV the usual way and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

Who should use a shift communication board?
A warehouse, distribution center or plant running two or three shifts, where the same handover information (priorities, who's on the floor, break times) currently gets repeated verbally or written on a whiteboard that the next shift may or may not read. It suits a supervisor who wants one screen the outgoing and incoming shift both glance at on the way in and out.
How do I change the board between shifts?
Either edit the one show (fastest, for a quick priority change) or build a separate show per shift and let the schedule switch between them automatically. The outgoing supervisor edits from a phone in the last few minutes of the shift, typing the next shift's priorities, who's covering which zone, and anything that changed. It is a text edit, not a redesign.
What problem does this actually solve?
The handover gap between shifts, and doing it across more than one screen without someone walking the facility updating boards by hand. Two shifts reading different, stale or verbally-passed information is how a priority gets missed; a screen that has to be manually swapped by someone physically present at shift change is the same failure one step removed.
How does ChannelOS solve it?
By separating WHAT is on a screen from WHEN it airs. Build a day-shift version and a night-shift version of the board as two shows, put them on the same channel, and set the channel's daily timeline so it swaps from one to the other at your actual shift-change time, every day, on its own. Every screen in the facility tuned to that channel changes at the same moment, with no publish-and-wait step and nobody touching a TV.
What does ChannelOS actually do?
ChannelOS runs digital signage from a web page in the TV's own browser rather than a dedicated player box. You build shows in an editor, pair as many screens as the facility has by scanning a code on each, and schedule which show airs on which screen at which hour through channels. A multi-shift facility is exactly the case channels are built for: one schedule, several shift-specific shows, every paired screen following it automatically. The first screen is free forever.
