# ChannelOS

> ChannelOS puts what a business sells on the TV it already owns. You open one link in the television's own web browser, pair it from your phone, describe what the screen should show and AI drafts it, then change a price from your phone and the screen changes. There is no media-player box to buy. The first screen is free for ever, with a ChannelOS banner along the bottom of the screen that any paid plan removes.

**What digital signage is, plainly, because most explanations assume you already know.** A digital sign is a television showing something useful instead of a channel: a menu, a price list, today's offer, a class timetable. The software's only job is to let you change what is on that television without walking over to it. Almost every product in this category also requires a small media-player box plugged into the screen, and most vendors sell you one. ChannelOS does not need one, because the television already has a web browser and that browser is the player. If you have a TV and wifi, you have everything.

**Setting it up is two steps, not three.** 1) On the TV, open `play.channelos.tv` in its own browser. A six-character code and a QR code appear. 2) On your phone, scan the QR or type that code. The screen is now yours to control. Nothing to buy, nothing to mount or wire, and nobody has to visit the premises. It works on Android TV, Google TV, webOS, Fire TV and any TV with a web browser; a television that is not smart can be driven by any streaming stick or laptop you already own. There is also an Android TV app for operators who would rather install one. It is not on Google Play yet, so it is a direct download from our own site (type channelos.tv/tv.apk on the TV, Android 8.0 or newer), and the TV's own browser still runs a screen with nothing installed. The app plays the same free screen, with the same ChannelOS banner along the bottom of the screen, and needs no extra hardware.

**The one thing ChannelOS is NOT best at, stated plainly.** A screen that is already playing keeps playing if the wifi drops, and it keeps the show's pictures and clips in the browser's own storage so they are not downloaded again on every loop. It still needs the connection back to come up again after a power cut, because the page and the show itself are fetched fresh each time the screen starts. If a screen must survive a long outage entirely on its own, a vendor who sells a media player with local storage is the better answer. That is a real reason to buy hardware.

Internally the product is three verbs. **Pair**: as above. **Build**: describe a show and AI drafts every slide on-brand in about a minute, or fine-tune it in a Canva-style editor that can read PDFs, images and webpage URLs into slides. Output is a real, editable show, not a flat export, and the same AI stays in the editor afterwards to rewrite, restyle and update a screen that is already on the wall, in plain words. **Publish**: push a show to a screen instantly, or schedule it on a channel with dayparting, so what a screen shows is derived from the show and the schedule and one edit airs everywhere in real time.

Key facts: the first screen is free and shows a ChannelOS banner along the bottom of the screen, Solo and Pro are per screen per month, and Agency is a flat base with 25 screens included. **The prices, in full, in US dollars: Free is $0 for one screen for ever, with a ChannelOS banner along the bottom of the screen. Solo is $5 per screen per month billed annually ($60 a year), or $6 billed monthly. Pro is $8 per screen per month billed annually ($96 a year), or $10 billed monthly. Agency is for 25 or more screens: $200 a month billed annually ($2,400 a year), or $250 billed monthly, with 25 screens included. Each screen after 25 is $6 per screen per month billed annually ($72 a year), or $7.50 billed monthly. Those are the prices for every customer, everywhere: ChannelOS is sold in US dollars only.** Billing is per screen on Solo and Pro, and a flat base plus each screen after 25 on Agency, never per location, and there is no setup fee and no hardware to buy. AI-credit top-up packs are one-off purchases: 100 credits for $6.99, 500 for $27.99, 1,000 for $52.99. Agency workspaces can also buy 5,000 credits for $199. Every workspace is billed in US dollars by card, wherever it signed up; there is no second currency and nothing is converted at checkout. The free plan is permanent, not a trial: one screen, one seat, no card and no countdown. Free screens show a ChannelOS banner along the bottom of the screen, and any paid plan removes it. What the free plan does not include: channels and scheduling (dayparting by hour and weekday), live takeover, and one-tap background removal, which start on Solo, and brand kits, which start on Pro. No dedicated media-player device is required because the TV's browser is the player. Screens self-update and can be remotely reloaded from the board. Realtime control runs on Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects. Channels support dayparting (weekday/weekend, by-hour) and live takeover. Built in: free Pexels photo and video, live widgets, and export/import as `.show.channelos.tv` and `.channel.channelos.tv` files (export works on the free plan too, so nothing is locked in). One-tap background removal is a paid-plan feature, Solo and up. Monthly AI-credit pool per plan: free 50, Solo 150, Pro 400, Agency 1,500 pooled.

Who it is for: shop owners, cafe and restaurant managers, gyms and studios, salon and clinic waiting rooms, churches, and owners running a handful of outlets from one phone. Anyone who wants a screen live fast without an AV team.

Partner program: ChannelOS runs a public partner program that anyone can apply to. It pays 20% of collected subscription revenue (per screen on Solo and Pro, the base plus extra screens on Agency) for a referred customer's first 12 months, then 10% every year after, for as long as that customer keeps paying. The base is net of payment-gateway charges and net of indirect tax, and excludes AI credit top-ups and promotional grants. Attribution is first touch with a 90-day window, first code wins, locked at the customer's first payment. Each charge is held 30 days; payouts run monthly on the 7th, and the payout methods and minimum are set out in the partner terms at https://channelos.tv/partner-program/terms. There is no minimum on the first payout, and a balance below the minimum carries forward and is never forfeited. Refunds are clawed back for 180 days. Joining is free with no fee, deposit, quota, annual commitment or exclusivity, there is no payment for signups or clicks, and there is exactly one level with no sub-partners. ChannelOS publishes no earnings figures because no ChannelOS partner has been paid yet. The commercial terms are also machine readable at https://channelos.tv/.well-known/partner-program.json

A template's markdown twin also flattens the board itself to text, so every line the screen actually shows is readable without running a browser. Each post's HTML advertises its twin with `<link rel="alternate" type="text/markdown">`, and the twin is the source the page is written from, so it never drifts from what a reader sees.
