About ChannelOS
Digital signage tools are genuinely powerful — and they ask for a weekend of setup before a single screen lights up. Provision a device, license a player, build a media library, wire up playlists, layouts, zones, user roles. Most people don't want a content-management system. They want "put this on that screen, now."
So we threw away the order of operations, not the power. ChannelOS is digital signage collapsed to three verbs — Pair, Build, Publish — that a shop owner, café manager or clinic receptionist can run from their phone, with no AV team.
ChannelOS is built and run by James Christian, from Ahmedabad, India. It is a small operation, which is the point: when you email [email protected] or message the WhatsApp number in the footer, you reach the person who wrote the code, not a ticket queue. If something breaks, there is nobody for me to escalate it to. I also read and answer every application to the ChannelOS partner program myself. Questions people ask before they trust any of this, including whether anybody else is using it, are answered on the answers page.
That cuts both ways and you should weigh it. A one-person company is faster to answer and slower to survive a bus. Every show, channel and slide you build can be exported into a single portable file at any time, on the free plan included, which is our answer to that risk rather than a reason to ignore it.
The TV runs a web page, so there's no media-player box to buy. AI drafts a whole multi-slide show from a sentence, so there's no blank canvas. And what a screen shows is derived from a live schedule, so one edit reaches every screen at once. Underneath the calm, the capable parts — channels, dayparting, live takeover, background removal, export/import — are all there the moment you reach for them.
Six principles behind every screen ChannelOS runs.
A first-timer should publish before they ever meet a 'media library'. The power stays out of the way until you reach for it.
You shouldn't need a designer to put a clear message on a screen. Describe it; AI drafts the show; the editor is your fallback, not your starting line.
No dedicated media-player box, no per-device license. If it renders a web page, it can be a ChannelOS screen.
What's on a screen is derived from the show and the schedule — never pushed file by file. One edit reaches the whole wall in real time.
Pack a whole show — slides, media, fonts — into one file and move it anywhere. Your work is never trapped here. No lock-in.
The board and the screens never drift. Press pause and it lands in milliseconds — on every screen at once.
Open the player on a TV, scan the code, publish a show. Your first screen is free.
Sell it instead of buying it. The ChannelOS partner program pays 20% of what each business you refer pays us for their first 12 months, then 10% for as long as they stay. Free to join, nothing to stock.
