What is a workout of the day board?

A workout of the day board is where a gym posts the session for every class that day, traditionally on a whiteboard. On a portrait TV it becomes one column: warm-up, strength and conditioning in order, followed by an intro course offer and the class times, all edited from a phone.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 9:16, so stand the TV on its end and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

What goes on a workout of the day board?
The day's session in the order it runs: warm-up, strength or skill, and conditioning, with sets, reps and time caps. Add one line on scaling, since it tells a new member the workout can be adjusted. Leave personal records and names off unless members have agreed to be listed.
Should the TV replace the whiteboard?
Not always. A whiteboard stays useful for scores written during class. A screen suits what is set before class and read by everyone: the workout, the times and announcements. Many gyms keep both, with the TV for the plan and the whiteboard for the results.
How should an intro course be shown?
As its own slide with the price, what it includes and when the next block starts, which is how this board shows its on-ramp: $150 for 4 coached sessions, next block Monday. Say who it is for, such as new to barbells, so an experienced visitor knows to ask about a drop-in instead.
How do I hang a TV in portrait for this board?
Mount the TV on its end, then choose the matching quarter turn in the screen's settings in ChannelOS so the board is upright. The board is designed in portrait, so the workout reads as one column. Check that the TV is rated for portrait mounting before you drill.
