What is a food truck tv menu?

A food truck TV menu is a screen mounted at or inside the serving window that shows what the truck sells and what it costs. This board runs four slides for a shrimp plate truck: the signature plate, five styles with prices, an $8 half plate, and a slide on ordering at the window and picking up.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 16:9, so stand the TV the usual way and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

Can a food truck use a regular TV for its menu?
Yes, if it is out of direct sun and rain. Mount it inside the serving window or under the awning, because sunlight washes out an ordinary TV and it is not built for weather. Secure it for the drive, since a truck's vibration and braking are hard on a normal wall bracket.
How does the TV get internet on a truck?
Through a phone hotspot or a small mobile router. The board plays in the TV's web browser, so it needs a connection to load and to receive edits. A screen that is already playing keeps playing if the signal drops, but after a power cut it needs the connection back before the board returns.
Will a TV run off the truck's generator?
Usually, but check the numbers. Find the TV's power draw on its label or in the manual and compare it with what your generator or inverter supplies, leaving room for the fryer, the fridge and the lights. Switch the TV off between services too.
How do I show that a style has sold out?
Edit the line from your phone: strike it through, change it or remove it, then publish, and the TV updates. A struck line that stays on the board answers the do you still have it question before anyone asks, which a printed menu cannot do mid-service.
