What is chashma shop digital signage?

Chashma shop digital signage is a TV screen inside a spectacles shop that replaces printed posters with slides the owner updates from a phone: eye test prices, lens and coating options, frame offers, the brands stocked, and a QR code for appointments or directions. Any smart TV, or an older screen with a cheap streaming stick, can run it.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 16:9, so stand the TV the usual way and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

How much does digital signage for a chashma shop cost?
Price it as three separate lines, not one bill: the screen, the player and the software. Most shops already own a usable screen, so start by counting your open hours. Commercial displays are sold with a duty cycle rating, usually 16 or 24 hours a day, while an ordinary consumer TV is not warranted for continuous use. So a shop open ten or eleven hours a day can normally run a regular TV, and a window screen left playing past midnight should not. The player is either the TV's own browser or a cheap streaming stick, which is the smallest of the three costs. Software is charged per screen per month, so one board in one shop is one screen, not a fleet.
Is there an app to run a chashma shop display board?
Most modern signage runs in the TV's own browser rather than as an installed app, and that decides what hardware you need. Test the screen first: open any website on it. If the browser loads a normal page, it can usually show the board. If the TV predates roughly 2016, or has no browser at all, add an Android TV stick and use that instead, which costs far less than replacing the screen. Pairing is normally a code shown on the TV that you type once on your phone, and after that the phone is the remote. Browser based boards do need working internet at the shop, so a screen on a dead connection will not keep playing. ChannelOS works this way.
What should a chashma shop put on the screen?
Build five to eight slides and hold each for eight to ten seconds, so the full loop plays in about a minute and a customer waiting for a fitting sees all of it. Size the type by the sightline: the sign trade's working rule is roughly 25mm of capital letter height for every 3 metres of viewing distance, so a screen read from 6 metres across the shop needs capitals near 50mm, and a twelve line price list will not survive that. Give each slide one job: welcome and shop timings, eye test prices, lens and coating options, the brands you stock, the current frame offer, and a QR for appointments or directions.
How often should the eye test prices and frame offers change?
Treat the offer slide and the price slide as the only two that move. Put the end date on the offer itself and delete that slide the morning after it expires, because a screen still advertising last month's discount is the quickest way to lose the trust the board exists to build, and a displayed price is one you are expected to honour at the counter. Reprice the eye test slide the day the fee actually changes, not at month end. Keep the wording honest about who performs the test: if a qualified optometrist is not in the shop that day, do not call it a full eye examination. The welcome, the brands and the directions QR can sit untouched for months.
