What is electronics shop digital signage?

Electronics shop digital signage is a TV in a mobile or appliance store that loops a set of slides in place of printed posters, showing current handset and laptop prices, accessory specifications, exchange and EMI offers, and store timings. The slides are edited in a browser, so a price change reaches the screen in seconds.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 16:9, so stand the TV the usual way and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

How much does electronics shop digital signage cost to set up?
The screen is the real cost, not the software. If a TV is already on the wall, the only missing piece is something to play the slides, and a browser on a cheap streaming stick or an Android TV box will do it. Buy a new panel only if the current one cannot take the hours: check the rated daily operating hours before you buy, because a set run twelve hours a day, six days a week, ages far faster than one used for evening viewing. Budget for a bracket, a surge protector and a reachable power point as well, because those are what actually stop a board going up on the day. The board designs themselves are free and remixable on ChannelOS.
How big should the prices be on a mobile shop display board?
Work backwards from where the customer stands. The sign trade rule of thumb is 25mm of capital letter height for every 3 metres of viewing distance, so a price meant to be read from 6 metres needs roughly 50mm capitals on the glass. A 43 inch landscape screen gives you about 530mm of height in total to spend. That is why a price slide should carry one model, one price and one offer line rather than a full catalogue: five rows of stock text are legible from the counter and unreadable from the door. Keep the price the largest thing on the slide, the model name second, and push the specifications into a smaller grid that a customer reads while standing close.
How often should I change what the shop display board shows?
There are two clocks. Inside the loop, give each slide 6 to 8 seconds and keep the whole cycle under about 45 seconds, because someone waiting at a counter watches for well under a minute and should see every slide once. Across the week, change the offer slide when the offer changes and leave the rest alone. A board edited daily gets ignored, and a board still showing last month handset price gets distrusted, which is worse than having no board at all. A workable rule is one owner, one editing slot, and a check every Monday that every price on the screen still matches the price at the till.
Can I show prices and no-cost EMI offers on the same screen?
Yes, and both need care. In India the maximum retail price is defined as inclusive of all taxes, so a figure shown to a walk in customer should be the all in price rather than a pre tax number topped up at the till. For finance, put the tenure, the participating banks or cards, and whether a processing fee applies on the same slide as the offer, because those three are what gets asked at the counter anyway. Keep the full terms on a printed sheet you can hand over and treat the screen as the headline. If an offer ends on a date, show the date rather than the word limited, which nobody believes.
