What is a we are hiring digital signage template?

A we are hiring digital signage template is a ready-made screen layout you play on a TV or lobby display instead of taping up a paper notice. It carries the hiring headline, the open roles, the pay or shift detail, why people should join, how to apply and a QR code the reader scans on the spot.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 16:9, so stand the TV the usual way and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

Can you provide an example of a hiring announcement?
Keep it to one screen a passer-by can read in about five seconds. A working example: the headline We are hiring, then the role and the shift, Kitchen porter, evenings, Tuesday to Saturday, then the one detail that decides it, the pay per hour or per week, then the ask, Scan to apply over a QR code or Ask for the manager at the counter. Put the role above the perks, because a candidate filters on job title and money before they read anything about culture. If you are advertising several roles, give each one its own slide at eight to ten seconds rather than crowding four titles onto one board. That is the order this template already runs in ChannelOS.
How much does digital signage cost?
Price it in three parts and check each one separately. First the display: a TV you already own counts, and a hiring board in a window or a break room does not need a commercial panel. Second the player: browser-based signage runs on a smart TV, an Android TV box or a cheap streaming stick, so confirm the device has a current browser before you buy anything. Third the software, which is almost always billed per screen per month, so your real cost scales with the number of screens and not the number of slides. Get a per-screen figure, multiply it by your screen count, then compare vendors. Free tiers exist, so run one screen before you commit.
How big should the text be on a we're hiring board?
Size the type from the furthest point you want it read from. The sign trade rule of thumb is roughly 25mm of capital letter height for every 3 metres of viewing distance, which is about one inch per ten feet. A board read from across a six metre pavement therefore wants capitals near 50mm tall, so the hiring headline and the role title get that size and everything else sits below it. For the QR code, a common rule is to make it about one tenth as wide as the distance you expect it to be scanned from, so a code read from two metres away should be around 20cm square. Mount it between waist and eye height.
Do we have to put the pay on a we're hiring board?
It depends where you are, and a screen counts as advertising. Several US states, including Colorado, California, New York and Washington, require employers to publish a pay range in a job posting, and employer size thresholds vary by state, so check the rule that applies to you before deciding to leave the number off. Treat a recruitment board running in your own window the same as a listing on a job site rather than assuming it is exempt. Beyond the law, pay is the single detail that decides whether a passer-by stops to read the rest, so leaving it out costs you applications even where you are allowed to. Publish a range and the shift pattern if you cannot publish a fixed figure.
