What is mma gym digital signage?

MMA gym digital signage is a screen inside a fight gym that replaces printed notices: a TV loops the class timetable, coach credentials, membership prices and trial offers, and it is updated from a browser instead of being reprinted. This free 16:9 board is one such template, and it runs on any TV with a browser.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 16:9, so stand the TV the usual way and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

What should a boxing gym show on its digital signage?
Work backwards from how long someone actually stands in front of the screen. At a fight gym reception that is usually under a minute, so build a loop of four to six slides that finishes inside 45 seconds: today's class timetable, the coach line-up with real credentials such as amateur record, belt rank or years cornering, membership and drop-in prices, and one offer such as a trial pass. Put the timetable first, because it is the one thing existing members look up. Keep the offer to a single slide and give it a deadline or a class cap, so it reads as a decision rather than as wallpaper. Anything that changes less than monthly, like gym rules or waiver notices, belongs on a printed wall sign instead of in the loop.
How big does the text need to be on a gym display board?
Use the sign trade rule of thumb: roughly 25mm of capital letter height for every 3 metres of viewing distance. Stand where your members actually stand. If the reception screen is read from 6 metres, the smallest readable capital is about 50mm on the glass, which on a 43 inch 16:9 screen is close to a tenth of the screen height. That is far larger than most people design at, and it is why a timetable copied out of a spreadsheet fails on a TV. Cut columns until the type fits: day, time, class, coach, nothing else. If a slide will not survive that trim, split it in two and let the loop carry both halves.
Will a normal TV work, or do I need a commercial display?
An ordinary smart TV, or any screen plus a cheap HDMI stick, is enough for most gyms as long as it has a modern browser and can be left on. Three checks decide it. Duty cycle: if the screen will run more than about twelve hours a day, confirm the warranty covers that, because commercial panels are the ones built for long daily hours. Light: a screen facing a window or an open shutter will wash out, so either move it or buy a brighter panel. Orientation: this board is 16:9 landscape, so mount it landscape above reception. A pillar or corridor screen turned on its end needs a portrait board built at 9:16 instead.
How often should the board be updated, and who does it?
Give one person the job and tie it to events rather than to a calendar. Timetable changes and coach absences go up the moment they are known, because a wrong class time on a screen is worse than no screen at all. Prices change rarely, so review them when you review fees. Every offer needs an end date chosen when you create the slide, and the slide comes down that day: an expired trial pass left on the wall quietly teaches members that the screen is stale. Keep results claims off it unless you can substantiate them. A browser based board like this ChannelOS template is edited from a phone, so a coach can change a class time between rounds and every paired screen picks it up.
