What is garment shop digital signage?

Garment shop digital signage is a screen inside a clothing store that plays sale prices, new arrivals and offers instead of a printed poster, so staff change a price on the TV in seconds rather than reprinting. A free ChannelOS flash-sale board pairs to any TV with a built-in browser and is edited from a phone.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 16:9, so stand the TV the usual way and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

What are the 7 key elements of digital signage?
There is no official standard list, so treat it as a checklist rather than a rulebook. A working garment shop setup needs seven things: a screen, something to play on it, the content itself, software that schedules what shows when, an internet connection, a mounting position, and one named person who updates it. Two of those decide most of the cost. If the TV already has a modern browser, you do not buy a separate player. And mount it so the centre of the screen sits near standing eye level, around 1.5 metres from the floor, because a screen above the door is read by nobody at the till.
What is the price of digital signage?
Price it as four separate lines, not one number. One, the screen, which is a one-off and is the largest item. Two, the player, which is free if the TV runs a modern browser and is an extra box if it does not. Three, the software, which is usually billed per screen per month, so multiply by the number of screens and by twelve to compare it fairly against the screen cost. Four, running cost: a 43-inch LED television draws roughly 60 to 100 watts, so twelve hours a day is about 0.7 to 1.2 units of electricity daily, near 20 to 36 units a month. Ask any vendor for the per screen per month figure before the headline price.
What are the top 10 digital signage software?
Ranked lists move around and many are paid placements, so test candidates against your own shop instead. Four checks settle it quickly. Can it run on the TV you already own, or does it force a separate player and a second purchase? Can you change one price from a phone, at the counter, without a laptop? What does it cost per screen per month, and does that price change when you add a second screen? And what happens when the internet drops for an hour: does the screen keep playing the last schedule or go black? Ask for a free screen to test before paying, and run a real sale board on it for a week.
How big should the discount text be on a garment shop screen?
Use the sign trade's rule of thumb: roughly 25mm of capital letter height for every 3 metres a customer reads from. A 43-inch screen is about 950mm wide and 535mm tall, so a shopper standing 6 metres back needs the discount number at least 50mm high, which is around a tenth of the screen's height. In practice that means one number, not a paragraph. Set the percentage and the deadline at that size, keep the item list small enough that only someone within 2 metres reads it, and leave the middle of the screen for the biggest number. Test it by standing at your own door and reading the screen.
