What is a health camp announcement?

A health camp announcement is the public notice telling a neighbourhood that a free medical camp is happening: the date, the hours, the venue, which doctors and tests are on offer, and how to register. Shown on a screen rather than a printed banner, it can be corrected on the morning of the camp itself.

Questions people actually ask

What is the purpose of a health camp?
A health camp exists to screen a lot of people quickly, catch what is treatable early, and hand each person a clear next step. Fix one countable target before you book the hall, such as people screened or referrals made, because that number sets your staffing. Two doctors at six minutes a consultation clear roughly 80 people in a four hour camp, so a target of 200 needs either more doctors or a longer day. Decide in advance who receives the referrals, since a camp that finds high blood pressure and names no follow up clinic has measured a problem rather than treated one. Write that follow up date on the announcement, not only on the prescription slip.
How to conduct a health camp?
Work backwards from the date. Two to three weeks out, confirm the venue, the doctors and the consumables, and get written permission from whoever owns the hall. One week out, start announcing: a screen or banner at the venue, plus the same details in a WhatsApp group and at the local chemist. On the day, split the floor into four stations, registration, tests, consultation and reports, and hand out token numbers in batches of about 25 so the queue moves in visible steps. Keep the announcement running during the camp too, showing which tests are still open and the last registration time, so walk ins at midday are not turned away at the door.
What are some ideas for medical camps?
Pick tests that give a result in the same visit: blood pressure, random blood sugar, height and weight, haemoglobin, eye sight with reading glasses handed over on the spot, dental checks, and ECG where a doctor can read it there and then. Anything sent to a lab needs a delivery plan before you offer it, a named date and a phone number, or the reports sit uncollected. Seasonal angles work well, an anaemia camp for women, a school vision camp before exams, a diabetic foot check after a festival month. Whatever you choose, list the actual tests by name on the announcement. Free health camp on its own tells nobody whether it is worth the trip.
What should a free health camp display board show?
Six things, in this order: the words free health camp in the local language, the date and weekday, the start and end time, the venue with a landmark, the tests actually included, and a registration QR or phone number. Size the headline by the sign trade rule of 25mm of capital height for every 3 metres of viewing distance. On a 43 inch TV, which is about 535mm tall, a heading at 5 percent of screen height is roughly 27mm and reads across a 3 metre waiting room, so double it for a corridor twice that deep.
