What is puja committee digital signage?

Puja committee digital signage is a TV screen at a pandal or mela ground that replaces the printed programme banner. One landscape board cycles the day schedule, aarti and procession times, the main attractions, the food stall list and a contact or donation QR code, and the committee edits it from a phone as the programme changes.

This board runs on

Any screen with a modern browser. There is no media player box to buy and nothing to install: you open a link on the TV, pair it once, and change what it shows from your phone.

It is authored at 16:9, so stand the TV the usual way and the board fills it.

Questions people actually ask

What should a Rath Yatra or mela programme board actually show?
Work backwards from the questions people stop to ask a volunteer. Four of them cover most of it: when is the next event, where do I stand, what is here to see, and where do I eat or donate. So a working programme board carries the day schedule with a time against every item, the procession and aarti slots marked clearly, the main attractions, the food stall list, and one QR code for the committee contact or donation link. Keep one idea per slide. A single screen listing fourteen items in small type gets read by nobody, while four slides of four lines each get read by somebody standing in a queue. Put the item most people are waiting for in the same position on every slide.
How big does the text need to be on a mela display board?
The sign trade rule of thumb is 25mm of capital letter height for every 3 metres of viewing distance. A crowd standing 9 metres back therefore needs capitals around 75mm tall on the glass, which on a 43 inch screen is a very large heading and only a handful of words per line. Measure the real distance from the screen to where people actually stand, not to the edge of the pandal, then size the smallest line on the board so it still clears that rule. Test it before the mela opens: put the board up, walk to the back of the queue and read it. Anything you have to squint at gets cut, not shrunk.
Do we need a special display, or will an ordinary TV work at the pandal?
An ordinary LED television is fine as long as it sits under cover and out of direct sunlight. Consumer sets are built for indoor light levels and wash out in daylight, so a screen facing an open ground at midday will be unreadable however bright it looked in the hall. Site it under the pandal canopy or inside a stall, angled away from the sun. Power is rarely the constraint: a 43 inch LED TV draws well under 100 watts, which is small beside the lighting rig sharing the same generator. The network is what bites. Assume the wifi will drop at some point and check what the screen shows when it does.
How do we change the board when the procession time slips?
Decide in advance who holds the phone. Timings move on a mela day, and a printed banner cannot move with them, which is the whole reason a screen earns its place. Give one committee member editing rights, agree that nobody else changes a time, and have them read the board back out loud before publishing so a wrong slot never goes up in front of a crowd. Keep the schedule slide short enough that a change is one line rather than a re-layout. Editing from a phone and pushing straight to the screen is what ChannelOS does, so the correction lands in seconds and nobody reprints a banner or carries a laptop to the pandal.
