# Free digital notice board maker

A browser tool that turns typed lines into a real 1920x1080 notice board for a screen. No account, no email and no watermark to build one and download it. An account is only needed to put the board on an actual screen and change it afterwards.

## What it does

- Type notices and watch them render as the board a screen would show. The preview is the same renderer the TV player runs, not a mock-up.
- Five presets: today's notices, a shift handover board, the crew on shift, a warehouse floor board, and a staff room board.
- Six board colours, every one checked for contrast against the text it carries, so a board cannot be made unreadable by picking a colour.
- Three fonts: display, plain, and a monospaced one where every digit is the same width, so a column of shift times lines up without any alignment setting.
- Up to four columns in each block, with a header row naming them: a notice, when it applies, and who owns it.
- Two blocks side by side, so one board can carry this shift on one side and what the next shift inherits on the other.
- Mark a line as done. It stays on the board, struck through and dimmed, so nothing has to be retyped when it comes back.
- Add a QR code pointing at the full document or rota.
- Download the board as a 1920x1080 PNG, free and without an account.
- Publish it to a real screen, which needs a free account.

## Who should not use this

Anyone rolling out internal communications across a company. There is no single sign-on, no SAML or SCIM provisioning, no per-site roles, no approval workflow and no audit log, and the player runs on a public web address rather than behind a corporate directory, so it will not pass an IT review. For that job a corporate internal-comms platform is the right category and ChannelOS is not in it. This tool is built for the opposite case: one screen in one room, updated by whoever is standing in that room.

## When a design tool is the better answer

For a printed A4 notice to pin on a cork board, Canva and Adobe Express have far more artwork and are the better tool. This one is built for a notice board that lives on a screen: it renders through the engine a TV runs, and a line can be changed after the board is on the wall without exporting a new file and carrying it to every screen.

## What is free and what needs an account

Free with no account: building the board, all five presets, all six colours, all three fonts, every column, the QR code, and the 1920x1080 PNG download.
Needs a free ChannelOS account: showing the board on an actual screen, changing it after it is live, and running more than one screen. The first screen is free for ever. Free screens show a ChannelOS banner along the bottom of the screen, and any paid plan removes it. Scheduling a different board per shift is a paid feature.

## Presets

5 presets, each opening the editor with real starter lines and the columns that room needs. They are presets inside the one tool, not separate pages, and the colour and font are a separate choice, so any preset can be any colour:

- Today's notices: A notice per line, with when it applies and who to ask.
- Shift handover: This shift's facts on the left, what the next shift inherits on the right.
- Crew on shift: Who is on, which shift they are on, and where they are working.
- Warehouse floor: A zone or line per row, what state it is in, and who is running it.
- Staff room: What changed this week on the left, who to ask on the right.

## Questions

### What is a digital notice board?

A digital notice board is a notice board shown on a screen instead of pinned to cork, so changing a notice is an edit rather than a reprint. The practical difference is the day something changes: a paper board needs the old sheet taken down, a new one printed and someone walking to every board, and a screen version is one line typed on a phone.

### Where can I make a digital notice board for free?

In this browser tab. Pick a preset, type your lines, and download a 1920x1080 image with no account, no email and no watermark. If what you want is a printed A4 notice for a cork board, Canva and Adobe Express have far more artwork and are the better tool for that job. This one is built for a notice board that lives on a screen, so it renders through the same engine a TV runs and a line can be changed after the board is on the wall.

### Who should not use this?

Anyone rolling out internal communications across a company. There is no single sign-on, no SAML or SCIM provisioning, no per-site roles, no approval workflow and no audit log, and the player runs on a public web address rather than behind your directory, so it will not pass an IT review. It is built for the opposite case: one screen in a room, updated by whoever is standing in that room. If you need the first list, a corporate internal-comms platform is the right category and we are not in it.

### Is this notice board maker really free?

Yes. Building the board and downloading the 1920x1080 PNG needs no account, no card and no email address. A free ChannelOS account is only needed for the part a design tool cannot do: showing the board on an actual screen and changing it after it is live.

### Can I use it as a shift handover board?

Yes, and there is a preset for it. A handover board is a notice board with two blocks: what is true of this shift on one side, and what the next shift is inheriting on the other. Pick Shift handover and the columns and starter lines are already that shape, including a column for who owns each open item.

### How many columns and lines can I have?

Up to four columns in each block, and two blocks side by side on one board. The ceiling is four because past that each cell is too narrow to read from across the room, which is the only test that matters for a board on a wall. On height, a header row plus about five lines fills the board at a readable size, and the tool measures the real render and warns you the moment a line is going to run off the bottom.

### What do I put on a shift handover board so the next shift actually reads it?

Only what changes. A board that repeats the standing rules gets read once and then ignored, so keep the permanent instructions on paper and give the screen the things that were different today: who is leading, which zone is down, what is still open and the one name that owns it. Put the owner in its own column rather than in brackets after the text, because a reader scanning a wall follows a row across and cannot parse a parenthesis at six metres.

### Can I change the colours and the font?

Yes. Six board colours and three fonts, and the preview is the real renderer, so what you pick is what a screen shows. The colours are a fixed set rather than a free colour picker on purpose: every one is checked for contrast, so you cannot accidentally build a board nobody can read from the far side of the room. Monospaced is the useful one for a shift board, because every digit is the same width and a column of times lines up on its own.

### What do I need to put the notice board on a screen?

A screen that can open a web page: a smart TV browser, a cheap streaming stick, or an old laptop plugged into the HDMI port. You open the player address on the screen and pair it from your phone. There is no media player to buy and nothing to install. The first screen is free for ever, with a ChannelOS banner along the bottom that any paid plan removes.

### Can I show a different board on each shift?

Yes, on a paid plan. A show can be scheduled to a time of day, so a morning board and a night board can run on the same screen without anyone switching them over. On the free plan you get one screen and one board at a time, which you change yourself when the shift changes.

### Can I change a line after the board is on the wall?

Yes, from your phone or laptop, and the screen updates itself. This is the part an exported image cannot do: once a PNG is on a screen, changing a line means making a new file and putting it there by hand.
