## What is a pizzeria menu board?

A pizzeria menu board is the screen a customer reads while deciding, listing pizzas and prices. As a TV loop it carries the shop's name, the pizza list with prices, one combo offer, and opening hours, and a price change is typed rather than reprinted.

A pizzeria counter runs this on a wall mounted TV: the venue, the priced list, one offer and the hours.

## What is on this board

The slides below are the template's real content, flattened to text. Remixing copies the
whole deck into your own workspace, where every line is editable.

## Frequently asked questions

### What belongs on a pizza menu board?

The pizzas, by name, with prices, and nothing that needs a second reading. Four to six classics beat a full menu on screen: the long tail belongs on the paper menu people take to a table. Put the topping line under the name only where it changes the decision, like a chilli honey or a hot salami. If you run a combo, give it its own slide with one number on it, because a deal competing with a price list is read as neither.

### Landscape or portrait for a pizzeria?

Landscape if the screen sits above a counter and you want two columns, portrait if it is on a pillar or in a window where the wall is narrower than it is tall. The shape decides the layout, not the other way around: a portrait board wraps a long pizza name onto two lines, so names get shorter, and a landscape board has room for a description column. Author it in the shape the TV is actually mounted in rather than rotating a design later.

### How do I show a deal without cheapening the board?

Give it one slide, one number and one condition, then get out. The failure is a permanent banner that shouts a discount on every screen of the loop, which teaches regulars that the real price is never the price. A deal on its own slide, in the accent colour used nowhere else, reads as an offer rather than a policy. Take it down when it ends, which on a screen costs nothing and on a printed board is why the old one is still up.

### Can the board run on the TV we already have?

If the TV has a working modern browser, yes. It opens a page and the board runs in it, so there is no player box to buy and nothing to install. What it does need is power and a network it can hold: an ordinary smart TV that already streams will do. The honest limit is that when the internet is down the screen has nothing to show, so if the board has to keep running through an outage, this is not the right tool yet.

## How to use it

1. Open https://channelos.tv/t/wood-fired-pizzeria-menu-board-landscape-dbddef79-cd09-454a-b7a8-d55213af48e6 and press "Use this template".
2. It is copied into your own workspace, where you edit the words, prices and colours.
3. Open the player link on the TV, pair it once with the code on screen, and the board airs.

It runs in the television's own web browser. There is no media player box to buy and
nothing to install. The first screen is free.
