## What is a vertical smokehouse menu board?

A smokehouse menu board is the screen listing smoked meats and the platters they come on. On a TV it loops the name, the platter and what is on it, one price, and the hours, so what has come off the smoker is what the board offers.

A smokehouse counter runs this on a TV stood on its end: the venue, the priced list, one offer and the hours.

## What is on this board

The slides below are the template's real content, flattened to text. Remixing copies the

## Frequently asked questions

### Why stand a TV on its end for a smokehouse counter?

Because the wall usually decides. A smokehouse counter tends to sit against a pillar, a narrow strip beside a doorway or a window that is taller than it is wide, and a landscape panel there either overhangs or shrinks to fit. A portrait board reads as one column top to bottom, which suits a list. What it is not is a rotated landscape design: turning a wide layout on its side re-wraps every line, so the board is authored in the shape the screen is mounted in.

### How do I mount a screen in portrait safely?

Three checks before drilling. The bracket has to allow rotation, which most VESA plates do but some fixed ones do not. The panel itself has to be rated for portrait: many consumer TVs are not, because heat rises differently through a rotated panel and the warranty often says so in a line people skip. And the cables have to leave the set without a tight bend at the new bottom edge. A commercial signage panel is usually rated for both orientations, which is one of the real things the premium buys.

### How should a barbecue board handle selling out?

By saying so, immediately, and keeping the price on screen. Barbecue sells out by design, and a smokehouse that hides it spends the evening explaining. A struck line is the honest version and it takes a tap, so it actually happens during service, which is the only test that matters for a board control.

### Weight or plate: how do I price smoked meat on a board?

Whichever you actually sell, said once. Pricing brisket by the 200 grams and ribs by the half rack on the same board is normal and fine as long as each line carries its own unit. What confuses is a platter priced with no indication of what it feeds: put serves three to four beside the price, because that is the number the table is deciding with.

## How to use it

1. Open https://channelos.tv/t/smokehouse-sharing-platter-board-portrait-8809f75f-16e4-4666-b528-556cc653ed24 and press "Use this template".
2. It is copied into your own workspace, where you edit the words, prices and colours.
3. Open the player link on the TV, pair it once with the code on screen, and the board airs.

It runs in the television's own web browser. There is no media player box to buy and
nothing to install. The first screen is free.
