### Can patients see a physical therapist without a referral?

In many cases, yes. All 50 US states and Washington, DC, allow some form of direct access to physical therapists, but the rules differ by state and an insurance plan may still require a referral before it pays. This board says ask us, which is the honest short version for a screen.

### What should a therapist profile on the screen include?

A real photo, the therapist's name with their credential, their focus areas and the languages they speak. This board leaves the credential as a placeholder so nothing is claimed until the clinic fills it in. Leave out ratings and years of experience unless you can show where they come from.

### Can the screen show exercises for patients?

General movement reminders, yes; individual programs belong with the therapist. A screen everyone sees cannot account for each patient's condition, so keep any exercise content generic and add a line telling patients to follow their own plan.

### Does the clinic need a media player box?

No. Any TV with a modern web browser plays the board: open play.channelos.tv on the TV and pair it from your phone with the code it shows. An older TV can use a streaming stick, and nothing is installed on the TV.
