## What is a digital notice board for office free?

A digital notice board for an office is a TV or monitor that plays a rotating set of notices instead of pinned paper: welcome messages, announcements, the day's meetings, safety reminders and contact details. A free one costs nothing beyond the screen: you open a browser board on a display you already own and edit it from a phone.

An office admin runs this Tamil lobby TV: welcome, announcements, today's meetings, safety and contact.

## Frequently asked questions

### How to make a digital notice board?

Three parts: a screen, something that renders a web page, and a page that rotates on its own. Any TV with a built-in browser will do; if yours has none, a cheap HDMI stick or a mini PC covers it. Then set the pace. A corridor reader gets three to five seconds a slide, a seated waiting area ten to fifteen, and the whole loop should finish inside about a minute so a visitor sees everything once. Size the type from the back of the room: the sign trade works to roughly 25mm of capital height for every 3 metres of viewing distance. Keep one slide free as the changes today slot, so staff have an obvious place for the notice that actually matters.

### What is the best digital display board for an office?

Measure the longest viewing distance first, then decide. Inside about 8 metres an ordinary 4K television in landscape beats an LED matrix on both price and legibility, because it renders real fonts instead of a coarse pixel grid, which matters more in Tamil than in English. Past that distance, or behind a sunlit glass lobby wall, an LED panel earns its cost. Check the duty rating: commercial signage panels state a run time such as 16/7 or 24/7, consumer televisions usually do not, so a screen on for eleven hours every weekday is being run outside its intended use. Last, confirm the player renders Tamil script. Some budget media sticks ship without Indic fonts and drop the glyphs silently.

### What is a digital notice board?

It is the cork board's replacement: one screen playing a loop of notices that anyone authorised can change from a phone or a laptop, rather than printed sheets pinned up and left to go stale. The content is usually whatever the paper carried: a welcome line, announcements, the day's meetings, safety reminders, canteen timings, a number to call. The real difference is how quickly it goes out of date. A printed notice has no expiry and sits there for months. A digital one is edited in seconds, so there is a simple test of whether yours is working: if nothing on the screen has changed in a fortnight, people have stopped reading it.

### What is the price of a digital signboard?

Split any quote in two, the screen and the software, because they are priced on different logic. LED matrix boards are sold on size and pixel pitch, the gap in millimetres between the LEDs, and a finer pitch costs more. A common trade rule of thumb is that the pitch in millimetres is about the closest comfortable viewing distance in metres, so a P3 panel reads well from roughly three metres and buying P2 for a lobby nobody stands close to is money wasted. Indoors, a television is normally the cheaper screen. On the software side, ask whether you are quoted per screen per month, and whether board designs are included or billed on top. A free remixable template such as this ChannelOS one removes that second line.

## How to use it

1. Open https://channelos.tv/t/office-notice-board-tamil-d044fa53-e7f3-48be-abb6-106d397e08a2 and press "Use this template". Create a free account and the template opens in your own workspace.
2. Change the words, prices and photos in the editor, from a phone or a computer.
3. On the TV, open play.channelos.tv in its own browser, pair it from your phone with the code it shows, then publish the board to it.

It runs in the television's own web browser. There is no media player box to buy and
nothing to install. The first screen is free. Free screens show a ChannelOS banner
along the bottom of the screen. Any paid plan removes it.
