Be precise. The FTC's Jewelry Guides (16 CFR Part 23) treat an unqualified "gold" as solid 24 karat gold and expect the karat to be stated for gold alloys, such as 14K. Plated and filled pieces need to be described as plated or filled. Put the karat on any slide that names a piece.

### How do I keep a sale screen looking upscale?

Use fewer words, more space and one accent color. This board keeps a dark ground, gold type and three tiers at most. Replace the background with a photo of your own pieces on a plain surface, and keep the percentages small enough that the jewelry, not the discount, leads.
