## Frequently asked questions

### Bowls or juices first on the board?

Whichever you want ordered, at the top, in the larger type. A board is a ranked list whether you intend it or not, since a queue reads from the top and stops. If bowls carry the margin, bowls lead and the juices sit under them; if the morning trade is juice, invert it. What does not work is treating both as equal, which reads as a catalogue.

### Should toppings be listed?

Three, under the name, and only the ones that change the choice. A full topping list is what a card at the counter is for, and a board carrying it becomes a wall of small type that nobody reads at any distance. If a bowl is defined by its toppings, that is a short line; if the name says it, say nothing.

### Do I need to show allergen information on the screen?

Check what applies where you trade, and treat the screen as a menu for that purpose. Where allergen information is required it must be available, but it does not have to be crammed onto a board read from four metres: a printed card at the counter, referenced by one line on the screen, is usually both compliant and more readable. Do not guess at the rule.

### What is the fastest way to change a price on one of these?

Open the board on a phone, tap the price, type the new one. It is live on the screen in seconds because the TV is showing a page rather than a file that has to be re rendered and copied to a stick. That speed is the entire practical argument for a screen over a printed board, and if it is slower than a minute, something is set up wrong.
