# Digital signage for banks and credit unions

Running branch rate boards, product and service screens, opening hours and queue-area information on displays played from the screen's own browser, changed centrally and followed by every branch.

## What runs it

ChannelOS plays as a web page in the browser the screen already has: Android TV, Google TV, webOS, Fire TV, a Chromebox, or a laptop in kiosk mode on the HDMI port. There is also a native Android TV app, downloaded as an APK from channelos.tv rather than from Google Play. There is no media player box to buy and no per-device licence.

## What goes on the screen

- **Rate and product boards.** Change the figure once on the board and every branch tuned to that channel shows it. The number stops being nineteen separate jobs.
- **Branch opening hours and closures.** Bank holidays, a half day, a branch closed for works. Scheduled onto the dates it applies to, so nobody is taking a sign down.
- **Queue-area and counter screens.** What a teller can help with, what needs an appointment, what can be done in the app. The questions a queue asks, answered while it waits.
- **Staff-side boards in back offices.** A separate channel for the things customers should not read, on the same account and the same hardware.

## When ChannelOS is the wrong answer

ChannelOS is not a queue-management system and has no ticketing, counter-calling or now-serving capability, so if the screen's job is calling numbers to counters, buy a product built for that. It also has no core-banking or rate-feed integration: a rate on a ChannelOS screen is a figure a person typed, not one pulled from a system of record, and for a regulated rate board some institutions will not accept that. There is no formal approval workflow either, so a two-person sign-off before a customer-facing figure goes live is a process you would run outside ChannelOS. Where it fits is the branch that wants its screens current and consistent and is content for a marketing or operations person to be the one who changes them.

## Questions

### What is digital signage for banks and credit unions?

Branch digital signage means running rate boards, product and service information, opening hours and queue-area screens on displays instead of printed cards and posters. In ChannelOS each board is an editable show played by the browser inside the screen, and branches tune into a channel, so a rate change is one edit that every branch on that channel picks up in seconds.

### Can one change reach every branch at once?

Yes. Screens tune into a channel rather than being loaded individually, and what a screen displays is derived from the schedule in real time, so editing the board changes every branch on that channel without a publish step and without anyone visiting a site. The screens board shows what each branch is playing at that moment, which is how you confirm it actually landed rather than assuming.

### Does it integrate with our core banking system for live rates?

No. There is no rate feed and no core-banking integration, so a figure on a ChannelOS board is one a person entered. For a regulated rate board that needs to be provably derived from a system of record, that is a real reason to buy something else. For product boards, opening hours and service information it is rarely a problem.

### Is there an approval workflow before something goes to a customer-facing screen?

Not as a product feature. ChannelOS has no multi-step approval or publishing sign-off, so if your compliance process requires a second person to approve customer-facing copy, that approval happens outside ChannelOS before someone makes the edit. Some institutions handle this by keeping the editing login with a small team.

### Can we run a queue-calling display on it?

No. ChannelOS has no ticketing, counter-calling or now-serving function and nothing to integrate with a queue system, so it cannot call customers forward. It is well suited to the screen beside the queue that explains what each counter handles and what can be done without queuing at all.

### How much does branch digital signage cost?

The first screen is free forever and further screens are billed per screen per month at the rates on the pricing page. Free screens carry a ChannelOS banner that opens into a full slide about every two minutes, which a customer-facing branch screen would normally be on a paid plan to remove. There is no player hardware to buy and no per-device licence.
